Carragen was one of the reasons I was able to mentally make it through my baby girl's delivery. From the moment we met Carragen, she was positive and genuine. She made sure to explain everything thoroughly to us, and she assured us that whatever we wanted for my labor/delivery process would be upheld. On the verge of opting for a c-section, Carragen, along with Dr. C and H, encouraged us to make whatever decisions we thought were best. Being in that situation is scary, especially when you're as indecisive as my husband and I were. However, Carragen never stopped speaking positivity into our minds. Her loyalty to our journey was evident and heartfelt. She asked if she could take care of us the next day because she wanted to see us through until the end; having someone in your corner like that, that you just met, is rare and oh so comforting.

The morning of delivery, Carragen came in bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. She kept talking to my belly and telling my baby that it was her birthday, and that she couldn't wait to meet her. During delivery, Carragen never stopped encouraging me by saying, "Oh my gosh, you're doing so great," and "You have done so well, you've got this," (even when I was looking at her in her eyes, screaming that I couldn't continue). Once our baby girl arrived, Carragen seemed so excited! She told her "happy birthday" at least 3 times, and she let me take a picture of her with our baby. Her heart is so incredibly invested in her job, and to be on the receiving end of that was more than we could have ever asked for in a labor nurse. Carragen has the biggest heart, the silliest sense of humor, and the strongest loyalty to her patients. She made our experience much easier than it could have been.
