My grandmother is a patient recovering from hip surgery (at almost 91 years old). A day before my grandmother broke her hip, she lost her husband of 68 years. It has been a rollercoaster and the last thing she needed was a surgery after the death of her husband. 

Luckily, she was placed in Carolyn's care, who has made this nightmare-ish week, brighter. We are so grateful for her outstanding care, humor, and unwavering kindness toward my grandmother. Not only did she go above and beyond in her professional duties, but she also brought a sense of lightheartedness and warmth that truly made a difference.

As a granddaughter who may have asked more questions than your average concerned family member, Carolyn was incredibly patient with me. She answered all my “annoying” questions (and let's be honest, there were a lot of them) with a smile, never once making me feel like I was a bother. 

She was there for my grandmother in ways that went beyond medical care. Whether cracking a joke to lift her spirits or simply holding her hand during difficult moments, it was clear that Carolyn genuinely cared. She made my grandmother feel not just like a patient but like a human. It’s rare to meet someone who combines the skill and professionalism of a top-tier nurse with the heart and humor that make them unforgettable.

In short, Carolyn was a ray of sunshine during a difficult time, and her kindness, care, and sense of humor have left a lasting impression on our whole family. I’m so thankful for everything she did for my grandmother and for being the kind of nurse who makes the world a better place, one patient at a time.
