Carolyn Garcia, RN

I am a 50-year-old patient who has been hospitalized multiple times over the last few months at St. Mary’s Healthcare. I have had many nurses take care of me; however, I want to specifically recognize Carolyn Garcia.

I have a mass growing in my right leg. This mass causes a lot of pain as it is pressing against nerves. The pain can be severe, unbearable, and overwhelming at times. I have had multiple procedures, and Carolyn took her time while providing my care. Carolyn also took the time to sit and talk with me, helping to calm me down. She even gave me a massage!

Carolyn is kind, gentle, and sweet. She made me feel a little bit of happiness during a difficult time. Carolyn is a very caring nurse. She truly deserves this DAISY Award for all she did for me, and I am sure for her other patients. She was able to make me feel good and hopeful.

I could have easily been sad, mad, or miserable, but because of Carolyn and her kindness, I was feeling positive. She truly went above and beyond. I am beyond appreciative of her.
