I had to go to the cath lab at the hospital to check my stents and arteries. They found both my stents are blocked again, and I also have several other new blockages. So they sent me to St. Thomas West, and it's the best place I could be, and here's an example.

They entered through my femoral artery in my groin, but it hurt pretty bad the next day. So Caroline Lee kept an eye on it, and she was feeling like something wasn't right with my incision. She went with her gut and told the cardiologist. They ordered a CT scan. The result was I still had a hole in the artery and it was bleeding internally. Once they realized this, you could tell right away it was a serious emergency. Caroline stayed past her shift to take extra care of me. She put pressure on my artery, and it was like we were in a movie; it was so surreal. She stayed with me while we waited for the vascular surgeon on call to arrive.

Soon, they rushed me back to the OR, and on the way, they were holding pressure on the artery. Before I knew it, I was waking up, realizing I survived. They were able to repair the artery. I am so grateful for Caroline. She saved my life. Also, she is really a nice person with a great bedside manner. She simply had a hunch about my incision and didn't let up until she got results. She went above and beyond. Again, I know she saved my life. She is an excellent person and has made my stay here so much better. I have some major medical trauma and anxiety from my previous heart attack. The entire staff has been wonderful, but Caroline stands out for listening to her gut and not giving up.
