I have never personally had a good experience in healthcare. I'm 30 years old and always felt unheard and uncared for, or not taken seriously, when I go to the doctor.

That all changed when I came to the hospital for my wife. We are navigating a serious diagnosis and are in a fragile place. We came to the unit with tears in our eyes and fear in our hearts. The first face we saw was Carol's. Right away, she made us feel safe, seen, and cared for. She was tender, attentive, but so positive and lighthearted, which made us feel comfortable relaxing for what felt like the first time since all this started.

She treated us like family. She shared a piece of her soul with us, and we needed that so badly. I cannot express in words how truly amazing this nurse is. Everyone who comes in as her patient is lucky. She has the ability to put laughter and light into the heaviest of hearts.
