The care was thorough and supportive, and the teamwork between Helen and Carol was observable.
When I checked in for my second cataract surgery, I was cared for by Helen, a very gentle and kind RN. She put me at ease, explained things well, inserted my IV with minimal pain, and oversaw all aspects of my care. There was a slight glitch in my treatment plan, which held up the final go-ahead until my surgeon could come out of the OR to explain. He informed me he would be inserting surgical equipment from a different company than what he had used when he had operated on my first surgery, a few weeks earlier.

Helen Ing and Carol Rezkalla chatted with me as I awaited the surgeon. It was a bit nerve-wracking, as no one knew at that point why my case was being held-up. Both of these soft-spoken professionals were calm and reassuring, and as a result, I was able to remain calm.

The Christian focus of these two women shone through. They believe in the mission of Loma Linda University Health and demonstrate it by caring for each patient as if they were their only patient. The pace of this department is brisk, and nurses are observed working hard and managing multiple patients. Somehow though, I felt as if I were their only one. The care was thorough and supportive, and the teamwork between Helen and Carol was observable. Seasoned nurses are greatly appreciated by this patient. Loma Linda University Health is wise to recognize them through this program. Sincere thanks and gratitude to Nurses Helen and Carol.
