Our four-month-old son was admitted to the PICU for two weeks following surgery. All nursing staff provided round-the-clock, first-rate care; however, Carmen was ever-present and deeply supportive of both our son and ourselves.

Beyond the expert care she provided for our son, she offered pastoral support to us as parents, helping us navigate a worrisome period. She answered every question we asked, and she even asked after us. Carmen took our boy under her wing and quickly became one of his biggest supporters. Whether allocated to his care or not, whilst on shift, she would always arrive early to see how he and our family were.

Carmen would cheer on his progress and formed a wonderful working relationship with him, which gave us comfort when we could not be around. Carmen was wonderfully communicative, walking us through her duties and interacting with our boy at every opportunity. Carmen truly made a difficult period manageable and one we will be forever grateful for her application of care and manner. Carmen is an outstanding Nurse and a wonderful person, too.
