Carla starts mornings singing and dancing, regardless of what is happening in her everyday life. The hospital gives her life, and she gives life to the hospital. Not to mention the way she treats her patients—how much they care for her, how she cares for them, how she spoils them, and how she looks after them.

Carla’s patients have even asked specifically for her to take care of them, because they laugh with her, because their pain feels lighter, because she jokes with them, and makes them feel at home. She gives them trust. She gives them hope.

In addition to being a wonderful person—which is essential in life and in this profession—she is a nurse, a licensed professional, a teacher, and someone who is constantly training and eager to keep learning, so she can turn that knowledge into actions and better care for her patients.
