Carl was the first nurse assigned to my mother upon her move to the PCU. I visited during the evening hours when my mom was resting so that we could visit with her grandchildren and me. I could tell by the time he took in waking her that he showed a lot of care, respect, and concern for her as his patient. He was also very attentive to our needs as a family. He just exudes a gentle soothing calmness that is hard to capture in words. Upon leaving that night, Carl was waiting nearby, so I approached him to ask questions and get updated about her condition and care. He answered all my questions and was just as curious and concerned abut some of the signs and symptoms she had been exhibiting that night. I got the feeling that Carl treats his patients in the way he would want to be treated as a patient. In fact, I know so. I left the hospital that night knowing my mother was being well taken care of with Care at her bedside.
