Their care extended beyond the patient - they reached out to our entire family with kindness, love, and support, giving us strength and comfort during our final goodbyes.
I would like to take a moment to extend my deepest gratitude and highest recommendation for the staff of the CCU at Blanchard Valley Hospital. My family and I experienced their care firsthand during the most difficult time of our lives, and their compassion, professionalism, and dedication went far beyond our expectations.
My father was admitted to the ER and transferred to the CCU in the early morning hours. From the very beginning, the staff provided not only excellent medical care for my father but also tremendous emotional support and accommodations for my mother, me, and our entire family. The next day, we received a call that my father's oxygen levels had dropped dangerously low and his carbon dioxide levels were very high. He required a ventilator, and though he ultimately was not able to come off of it, the staff walked with us every step of the way until his passing several days later.
They took the time to explain every detail with patience and compassion, ensuring we knew what to expect and that we were never alone in the process. The CCU staff consistently went above and beyond their duties. They arranged small but deeply meaningful comforts like sending a cart with cookies, water, and coffee to our family. There were staff members who cared for him in previous days, who were not even assigned to my father's room for the day, who would stop by to check on him and us. Their care extended beyond the patient - they reached out to our entire family with kindness, love, and support, giving us strength and comfort during our final goodbyes. It is rare to encounter such a dedicated and genuinely compassionate team.
To us, they were more than medical professionals; they were angels during a time when we needed them the most. I wholeheartedly commend and recommend the entire CCU staff at BVH for the extraordinary work they do each and every day.
