Cara Gilligan, RN

I would like to recognize Cara from 4 West for her compassion, kindness, and personalized care she provided during my admission.

What stood out most was that Cara immediately remembered me from a previous hospital admission, despite it being nearly six months later. As soon as she came into my room to introduce herself, we quickly realized she had been one of my nurses previously. We began talking about that admission and what has happened since then.

Cara even recalled specific stories I had shared about my family and other personal details I shared about my life. It was meaningful to know that she had taken the time to truly get to know me during my previous stay to better care for me as her patient. Her ability to remember those details made me feel valued, respected, and cared for.

Cara also took the time to thoroughly review my whiteboard with me, making sure I understood my plan of care and addressing any questions or concerns I had. She never seemed rushed and always made me feel like my needs were important.

She consistently went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable, whether that meant helping with requests, checking in frequently, or answering my questions.
