Candice was my nurse when I came into the ER. Little did I know at the time that I had a brain tumor. My husband had dropped me off since we didn’t know how long I would be in the hospital. I was incredibly lucky to get Candice as my nurse that day. First of all, she is just delightful; she immediately made sure I was comfortable and was so efficient while she worked. She was training another nurse that day, who was also wonderful. But she was so patient with her, and guiding her in a way that was so kind and admirable. You can tell she cares about her work, as well as helping other nurses to be their best, too! The doctor decided to do a CT, and the results were back quickly, and at this point, everything was moving very fast. Candice came into the room and she stood next to my bed as the doctor delivered the news that I had a brain tumor and I would most likely be having surgery very shortly. I broke down, and Candice took my hand and comforted me. One of the hardest moments of my life, and I was essentially alone, she provided me with so much comfort and love. I truly don’t think I could put into words how thankful I am for her or explain how much of an impact she made that day. I tell everyone about how one of life’s biggest curveballs gave me so many blessings. My care I received was truly unmatched and I am humbled every day thinking how lucky I am.

Candice’s actions were just beyond what I could have expected. Her comfort eased me when I had no one else, and I just don’t think I can put into words how important that is. Her grace and kindness are something I will never forget. I know it’s not every day you all have to deliver life changing news, but I am so so incredibly grateful I got the team I did. 

You are all so lucky to have Candice on your team! She is an angel on earth! Please know that my care during this whole experience was top-notch and truly above any expectation I could have set. Every situation has a silver lining, and I’m blessed that mine was every single person who took care of me during my entire stay!
