I was admitted with COVID. I had only been home from Timken Mercy for a few days. I was definitely facing a very challenging time in my life. My nurse, Candace, was one of the sweetest. She would come into my room and make sure to put a smile on my face, not only at the beginning of her shift but also at the end of her shift when she was exhausted.

I was unsure about what to expect. I had an inch incision and was scared. She did all my wound care and taught me how to manage my surgical drains. She also taught me some pain management techniques. She has basically helped me through the scariest times in my life. She has extraordinary compassion, is very skillful, and is excellent with patient care. She was there to encourage me and settle my spirits at one of the times I needed it the most.
