She was so prompt with the medications. I never had to remind her of her dosage; she was there and worked around her other patients, so she was in Mama’s room every 10 minutes.
I must say that I have never been prouder to be an employee of Baptist Anderson. My mother came through the ER from Aldersgate and was admitted to 2West for a couple of days, where she received good care. Further testing revealed that she had MRSA in her bloodstream. The source was discovered in her shoulder, knee, and eventually in one of her heart valves. She had a procedure to clean out the infection in her shoulder, but over the weekend, she suffered a stroke due to the heart valve infection breaking off and traveling to her brain. She was moved to 3 East. Her prognosis was not good, and we made the decision to stop medications and put her on hospice.  I was so emotional about this decision and went up to 3 East to speak to her nurse. Camryn was her nurse that day. What a Godsend Camyrn was to me.

She was so informative and looked at me with such compassion as she told me what would transpire. When I left, visiting Mama, who was now unresponsive, I asked Camryn if hospice had her on a schedule for comfort drugs. She told me she would call them and let me know immediately.  She did just that.  She stated that hospice had approved morphine every ten minutes, but she wanted to wait until I got up there since Mama could possibly pass away quickly. She was so prompt with the medications. I never had to remind her of her dosage; she was there and worked around her other patients, so she was in Mama’s room every 10 minutes. Camryn had her pockets lined with the flushing tubes and administered the medication with such efficiency. She spoke kindly and gently to me and explained the process. Believe it or not, my sweet, introverted mother held on Camryn’s whole shift! Camryn chose her words so wonderfully.  She was compassionate and informative when we needed it, and lighthearted when we needed that. My daughter was with me, and we both agreed that Camryn was the best nurse we had come across. We told her that she has a true calling as a nurse. We thank God for our angel Camryn that day.
