I am honored to commend Callie Sobolewski for the extraordinary compassion, professionalism, and humanity she showed my grandfather and our entire family during his final moments. From the moment it became clear that he was nearing the end of his life, she went far above and beyond what could ever be expected of someone in her role. She was incredibly attentive not only to my grandfather’s comfort and dignity, but also to the emotional needs of every member of our family.

During one of the most painful and overwhelming moments of our lives, she remained calm, thoughtful, and deeply compassionate in every interaction. What stood out most was how aware and considerate she was of the significance of those final moments for our family. She made sure each of us had the opportunity to spend time with my grandfather and say our goodbyes without feeling rushed. She explained everything that was happening with such patience, clarity, and sensitivity, helping us understand the process while also bringing us a sense of peace and reassurance. She handled a room full of grief, fear, sadness, and mixed emotions with remarkable grace and empathy, always speaking to us with kindness and genuine care.

Because of her extraordinary support, my grandfather was able to pass peacefully and with dignity, surrounded by the people who loved him most. The comfort Callie provided to our family during such a heartbreaking time is something we will never forget. Her compassion and ability to care not just for her patient, but for an entire family, truly embody what exceptional nursing means, and she made a lasting impact on all of us
