The patient was admitted after a MVA in which her 20-year-old daughter died. The patient said, "Caitlin is wonderful. She is so kind and caring. She took care of me the night I was admitted. She started out by saying that she would do whatever she needed to do to make me comfortable. She was there instantly if I needed anything. She has a tattoo of Lilo and Stitch. Stitch was my daughter's favorite character. When I told her that, she said, I was meant to have you tonight.'"

The patient relayed that Caitlin brought her so much comfort, and on the worst day of her life, she was able to make it a little better. The patient had physical pain, but it was nothing compared to emotional pain. She was able to help the patient with both. At the end of my rounds with the patient, she said, “I will never forget the kind and compassionate care that she gave me. It meant everything to me."
