Butch was very helpful, caring, and very honest. He made my dad feel at home with how helpful he was to my family. So far, this hospital has been the best we have been to in terms of hospitality. He helped us and showed us where to fill out paperwork for my dad.

He helped manage my wife's pain. Was constantly available, advocated for better pain management, kept track of her BP issues, was upbeat and cheerful, and introduced us to all the other staff. Butch made a difficult situation much better for us. Greatly appreciate his and the whole team's efforts.

Butch went above and beyond in caring for my brother while he was in the MICU. He didn’t just care for my brother—he also made sure my entire family and I were doing okay. His kindness and compassion moved us all and made us feel comfortable, supported, and seen during a time when we were extremely scared and vulnerable. He is an amazing nurse and an even more amazing human being. We could not be more grateful for Butch and everything he did for my brother.

Butch was only with me for one day of my stay, but he totally turned my thinking around. I was starting to get depressed. I was starting to think that I wasn’t going to heal all the way; I was starting to think that my surgical team just wasn’t getting it. His calm, cool, easy personality and compassion, along with his great bedside manner, extensive experience, and what seemed like an all-encompassing knowledge of medicine, set my fears and worries aside! Butch was a great advocate for me on my surgical care team. He was even jovial at times and more than willing to take time out of his day to spend with me and talk. I truly believe Butch was the turning point in my recovery. I can’t thank him enough! He would be a very well-deserved recipient of this award!

Thank you, Butch, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
