There are certain times you know that God has meant for a person to cross your path, and that was exactly the experience my 11-year-old son and I had at our recent visit to OSFMG Route 91 Pediatrics. My son was being seen for his wellness appointment and to get vaccinations that were due. C, my son, was visibly nervous and scared for this appointment; he was crying in the waiting room before even seeing the provider/nurses. Our nurse, Bryce, made all the difference in the experience for this appointment. I have been in healthcare for over 20 years at OSF, and you just know when you encounter someone who is passionate about their profession, and is working exactly where they are meant to be. He is absolutely a great, fantastic nurse in pediatrics. His calm, patient, caring, compassionate, empathic approach was exactly what my son needed. Bryce took his time and explained everything in a way that my son could understand, acknowledging his fear and dislike regarding the shots, and helped make my son comfortable with the process. If I had the choice, I would choose this nurse every time! After the visit, my 11-year-old said, "Bryce was really nice and made it a lot better for me, Mom". Please recognize this valuable mission partner!
