First and foremost, I need to remind you that you asked for as much detail as possible. I was blessed to have Brooke assigned to me on a Sunday night. It had been one of the worst days of my life! I had already failed two enema trials. Now seriously, how many people can fail an enema? Not just once, but twice. It was the worst test I’ve ever failed!

Thank God Brooke was beside me all the way through it! She was so supporting. Brooke explained everything, step by step. Brook’s genuine, calm, matter-of-fact manner was exactly what I needed. She was so calm and nonchalant she could have been giving me advice about the necessary steps to give yourself a good mani-pedi. Well, things got messy as the night moved on, but Brooke stayed calm and managed everything. God bless her heart!

She let me sit on that "throne" all night long, until I was sure the “poopaganza” was over! It was 3:30am when everything was finally“done. Brooke helped me to bed, tucked me in, and even thought to turn off my cell phone so that no one would call and wake me up early. She took care of me, the mess and just continually reassured me that this is the job she signed up for and poop was just part of “all the things.”

Unfortunately, Brooke’s shift had ended by the time I woke up. I wanted to thank her personally one more time for going above and beyond her job description. I had already completed a KUDOS card for Brooke. However, that wasn’t enough to show my appreciation. As if God timed it, Jordan entered my room. She told me about the DAISY Award.

I knew that recognizing Brooke was what I was led to do. Therefore, it was my honor to seek this recognition for Brooke’s dedicated service. Knowing Brooke, I’m sure she’ll say it was an honor to be nominated, however, I'm not that gracious and I want her to be a DAISY Honoree.
