We were recently admitted to Missouri Baptist with my boyfriend’s 92-year-old dad, who was admitted to the hospital the day before for tremors, pneumonia, and extreme confusion.

One evening, he was very agitated and combative and was trying to leave his room. This situation was made more difficult because of another family member who was agitating him, yelling and arguing, and refusing to leave. Brittany did an amazing job of navigating the situation, both supporting us while we tried to settle him and handling the complications and security concerns of getting the older person to leave.

She brought a true team to support us, from the security guards who helped manage the situation to the nursing/sitting staff who were caring for him. His care team was amazing and very patient.

Brittany was kind, empathetic, and reassuring throughout this whole ordeal. She made us feel cared for as if we were patients too, and she took all the shame out of the situation for us.

She moved the patient to a private room further from the entrance of the unit, which helped to set our minds at ease about his security. The staff at MoBap really went above and beyond, and we are eternally grateful.
