I truly believe Brigitte saved my life. She was kind in words and actions. In a time when I didn’t feel like a person, she talked to me in a way I understood and with respect.
I was in the hospital for abdominal abscesses and was put in a room on the labor and delivery unit. I was in a lot of pain, and Brigitte advocated for me, comforted me, and paid enough attention to my condition to recognize right away when I developed sepsis. If it wasn’t for her attention to detail, it’s possible the sepsis could have progressed significantly. I truly believe Brigitte saved my life. She was kind in words and actions. In a time when I didn’t feel like a person, she talked to me in a way I understood and with respect.

After I changed rooms, she visited me and showed genuine care for me outside of her duty as a healthcare professional. Brigitte is the kind of person and nurse that I want on my team every time I need medical care. While the entire nursing team in the labor and delivery unit was amazing, Brigitte truly went above and beyond during a chaotic time to prioritize my care and safety. I do not know if I could ever thank her enough.

I, as well as my family, believe I would not be alive if it were not for her catching my sepsis as early as she did. Despite how busy the entire hospital unit was, she made me feel that I was a priority, I was worthy of care, and that I wasn’t crazy or dramatic for the pain I was in. She has made an impact on me that I’m sure will be lifelong. I will continue forward in my life thanks to her, and I will do so, trying to live like her: with love, compassion, care, attention to detail, and true humanity. Thank you, Brigitte, for saving my life.

My daughter went to the hospital emergency room at 6:30 in the morning in extreme pain. She was finally moved to a room around noon, still in pain, but Brigitte was there! She immediately tried to calm my daughter down. Seeing that she was still in extreme pain, she went to bat for my daughter and did everything in her power to control her pain! She was so kind and calm.

My daughter needed surgery, and she did what she could to get a doctor there, even with extreme circumstances! I’ve never seen someone who cared so much for my daughter, as well as Dr. A. If it wasn’t for them, I don’t think she would’ve ever gotten to surgery. Brigitte went above and beyond what her job required and did it with such a wonderful spirit.

All nurses should learn from her. She truly is a wonderful nurse. I wish I could tell you the whole story of what she did. There were extenuating circumstances that I won’t go into, but Brigitte fought for my daughter the whole time. If I ever go to the hospital, I want her to be my nurse.
