I would like to nominate Bridgett Cope, MSN, RN, NE-BC, for the DAISY Leader Award. I have worked with Bridgett for several years. During this time, she has always conducted herself with professionalism and compassion, even under the most difficult circumstances. When asked to take on new responsibilities, she always gladly accepts the challenge. Recently, Bridgett helped to lead Schneck in its 5th Magnet Designation journey. She helped to prepare the document and lead a successful virtual site visit.

Few people really understand the significant amount of work and commitment required to lead the Magnet Program within an organization. Bridgett selflessly took on these responsibilities, in addition to her regular job duties, to ensure the organization would be successful. In addition, she works tirelessly to ensure the organization's educational needs are met. The number of contact hours and educational programs offered for hospital staff has grown exponentially under her expert leadership. In addition to her work-related efforts, she is also simply an amazing human being.

The last two years have been some of the most challenging of my life. Bridgett stood solidly by me in so many ways. She gave up her Saturday morning to help me pick up our extra car from getting serviced after my husband had a significant accident and could not drive. She sent flowers when my Grandmother passed away. She planned a surprise birthday party for me when I turned 40. These are just a few examples of her compassion and generosity that have positively impacted me.

She also lives these values outside of work through her volunteer activities, such as raising money for clean drinking water in partnership with World Vision. She goes above and beyond for her employees, covering for them during difficult times, and she works hard to lead them well. This organization is so fortunate to have a nurse leader like Bridgett who consistently models the values of humility, compassion, and integrity in her day-to-day leadership. Please consider Bridgett for this prestigious award.
