These are only tiny examples of what made her so amazing. Bri made me feel as if I was doing her a favor by letting her help me.
I am a very independent 79-year-old 100% disabled Vietnam Vet. I tend to isolate myself and never want or ask for help. At home, my defibrillator had shocked me 5 times in 10 minutes. When I came down from the ICU I was confused and angry with no way to vent. The VA staff is excellent. But each one has their own way of doing things. I like my wastebasket close to my bed because I cannot throw the tissues very far. But everyone likes to place the basket against the wall where it really belongs. Everyone except Bri Sullivan. She always placed it right where I could reach it. The same with my table. Most people would arrange the water, tissues, and other things where they should be. But Bri always put them where I liked them. How did she remember all those little details? Because of my prostate cancer and kidney failure, I urinate every 2 hours day and night. During the night, others would wake me to give or take whatever meds or vitals were required. Bri never woke me. She would appear just as I came out of the bathroom to do what was necessary. But these are only tiny examples of what made her so amazing. Bri made me feel as if I was doing her a favor by letting her help me. She dispelled all my anger and frustration with her kind gentle caring spirit. Healing is more than medications and treatments.
