She went above and beyond to honor my preferences, provide opportunities for informed decision-making, and help me achieve the goals I had for my labor.
Brianna was the only nurse who took my concerns seriously. When there was a shift change, and Brianna left, I had the charge nurse put my IV in so roughly that I couldn’t move my hand, and after telling her, she said it was fine, and also completely dismissed a valid concern, and I was unable to walk for almost a full 24 hours. She told me, “It should go away soon, the tablets are just dissolving,” after the specific tablets had been there for several hours- I didn’t want to check after 2 or even more times of saying the same thing. I bring those experiences up because the next day, Brianna didn’t even hesitate to check, and in fact, the IV was overly taped and all over the place, and should not have been hurting- and the tablets were not dissolved, and the second she fixed the issue, my pain was gone almost immediately.
To this day, even my mom talks about how incredible Brianna was. She did absolutely everything in her power to help me learn breathing, she was there for the long hours of exercises to reposition my baby, and was always on top of checking his oxygen and heartbeat because they were dropping with contractions. The whole labor experience, in general, was her giving me affirmations and making it a relatable experience by talking with me like a regular person. It tremendously helped to reduce my anxiety and reassure myself that I could do it!
I genuinely loved my birth experience because of her. She has been on my mind ever since, and I just know she is helping other women feel confident and safe for life-changing moments like bringing life to this world. I’ve had many doctors visits, but truly she stands out by so much I wish her incredibly well.

She changed my position every 15 minutes to give my baby the best chances at a vaginal birth while also having other patients to care for. She is an incredible nurse!
