Brian was the first person to genuinely listen and take his worry seriously.

Brian's exceptional compassion, dedication to patient advocacy, and proactive clinical care made a profound, positive difference during my father's challenging hospital stay.

My father was admitted to the hospital via ambulance and transferred to the Critical Care Unit with severe symptoms. Due to a history of recurring infections since COVID, he strongly suspected he was experiencing pneumonia. Unfortunately, his concerns were initially dismissed by other staff.

Brian was the first person to genuinely listen and take his worry seriously.

Brian performed a careful assessment, listening to my father's lungs and immediately hearing a concerning rattling sound. He promptly communicated his clinical findings and my father's consistent concern to the physician. This advocacy led the doctor to order a CT scan, which ultimately confirmed the diagnosis of pneumonia. Brian's swift action ensured the correct diagnosis was made, allowing my father to receive the appropriate treatment sooner.

Beyond his excellent clinical judgment, Brian has made an immeasurable difference in my father's comfort and emotional well-being. This hospital stay has been extremely difficult, but Brian is constantly checking in, anticipating needs, and ensuring my father is as comfortable as possible and has absolutely everything he needs.

Brian is, without a doubt, the most compassionate nurse our family has encountered. His willingness to listen, his commitment to patient safety, and his unwavering kindness truly exemplify the ideals of The DAISY Award. He transformed a very hard experience into one where my father felt heard, safe, and cared for.
