As a role model, Brian exemplifies what it means to be a compassionate and skilled nurse. He leads by example, demonstrating professionalism, clinical excellence, and genuine kindness in every interaction.
Brian exemplifies the meaning of teamwork!
The few weekends I have worked, we have been severely short-staffed. Without Brian's help, the unit would collapse. Whether he's answering phones, answering call lights, toileting patients, assisting with ADLs, or helping the nurses, he does it all with a smile!
He is always willing to help educate staff, patients, and families.
Recently, I caught the sweetest, simplest moment. We had a very anxious patient who loved his schedule and routine. As he was nearing discharge, he wanted to increase his walking in the evening (of course, a very busy time). Without hesitation, Brian walked this patient all around the unit, then toileted and assisted the patient to bed.
His kindness does not go unnoticed. Weekends would really suck without him!
***
First and foremost, Brian is an incredible team player. He consistently supports his co-workers and is always willing to step in and help whenever needed. If he reaches out for assistance, I know it’s because he truly needs it, and I would not hesitate to help him in return.
What sets him apart is that he never lets his title define how he treats others. He sees everyone as equal and fosters a respectful, inclusive environment where all team members feel valued. His kindness is genuine, and it shows in the way he interacts with both colleagues and patients.
His presence makes a significant difference, especially on weekends. Without him, things would not run nearly as smoothly. He plays a vital role in keeping everything organized and functioning effectively.
For these reasons, I strongly believe Brian is deserving of this DAISY Award!

I would like to recognize Brian's exceptional leadership, compassion, and unwavering support for both patients and staff.
Brian consistently goes above and beyond to create an environment where every team member feels valued, heard, and empowered. No matter how busy or challenging the shift, he makes himself available to support staff—whether that means stepping in to help with patient care, listening and offering guidance during difficult situations, or simply taking the time to check in and make sure we are okay.
As a role model, Brian exemplifies what it means to be a compassionate and skilled nurse. He leads by example, demonstrating professionalism, clinical excellence, and genuine kindness in every interaction. He treats patients with dignity and respect and encourages all of us to do the same, reinforcing the importance of empathy in everything we do.
What truly sets Brian apart is his ability to uplift those around him. He recognizes hard work, celebrates successes, and supports us through challenges. His dedication not only improves the work environment for staff but also enhances the quality of care our patients receive.
He is an inspiring leader, a trusted mentor, and a true embodiment of the values the DAISY Award represents.
