I wanted to write this to formally commend the charge nurse over the weekend on 5 North. We had a patient who had been enrolled in a clinical trial for stroke (OCEANIC), and despite our research team’s best efforts, the patient was discharged without his study medication. Brian took it upon himself to put up the study medication and deliver it to the patient’s home after his shift. His actions demonstrate the best light of our organization, leaving no stone unturned in the pursuit of excellence, going way above and beyond the expectations of his job duties to help this patient in need. It is a privilege to work alongside individuals like Brian, and I hope he can be appropriately recognized for his commitment to patient care.
