On the day that my father died, Brett Poorman explained what was going to happen. He took us (my siblings and me) to see my dad one last time and was comforting to us. We left the ICU knowing that Brett was going to be with him all night and would likely be with him when he took his last breath. I called the ICU at 5:50 am, Brett was off duty at 6 am. He said he was nearing the end and would call me back. Seven minutes later he called and told me my dad passed peacefully and that he and another nurse were holding his hands. There are no words to express what that meant to us. I did not want him to die alone and thanks to Brett I know he was in good hands. We are so grateful for Brett and just wanted the administration to know that he made this devastating experience so much better for all of us.
