She is amazing with post operative patients. There are so many examples of exemplary compassion. Brenda is a leader in the PACU and a resource for all. One example stands out to me. A patient came in with affirmations. Affirmations are printed statements that the patient likes the OR staff to read as they are anesthetized, when they are emerging from anesthesia and in the recovery room.

Brenda read the affirmations to this patient. One was, "when you wake up you will be hungry for raspberry sorbet." Would you believe Brenda tracked down raspberry sorbet for this patient. I don't know how she did it or where she found it. Just one beautiful example of how Brenda goes above and beyond to make PACU patients feel heard, seen, and cared for.
