LCDR Brandy Sims exemplifies the qualities celebrated by the DAISY Award through her exceptional leadership, commitment to mentorship, and contributions to the success of the N-PAC CV Review Program.
It is with great pleasure that I nominate LCDR Brandy Sims for the PHS DAISY Award in recognition of her outstanding leadership in the development and implementation of the Nurse Professional Advisory Committee (N-PAC) CV Review Program.

From July 2021 to December 2023, LCDR Sims demonstrated excellence in strategic planning, leadership, program development, and mentorship. Her remarkable contributions to the development and implementation of the novel N-PAC CV Review Program have significantly impacted the professional development of more than six members of her team and more than 300 PHS nurse officers.

Under their guidance, the 6-member workgroup of senior and junior officers from 4 agencies have achieved noteworthy milestones:

•Authored a compelling proposal and gained authorization from N-PAC leadership, paving the way for the successful implementation of a novel CV review process. This initiative was particularly crucial during a transitional period related to new Commissioned Corps category benchmarks and CV formats.

• The design and development of surveys, tools, and evaluation metrics, coupled with an innovative reviewer/reviewee matching and pairing system, have enhanced the effectiveness of the CV review process.

• The proactive approach extended to developing professional N-PAC communication announcements, resulting in the recruitment of senior officer reviewer volunteers and increased program awareness, facilitating broader officer participation.

• A pre-recorded training session for senior officer reviewers showcased commitment to education, covering current promotion benchmarks, career development resources, officer CV review, evaluation, and feedback processes.

• Innovative efforts in 2022 led to a significant expansion of the program, with a remarkable 163% increase in reviewer participation and a 129% growth in the CV review program's reach from 2021.

• More than 10 team trainings and meetings were conducted to monitor and evaluate program processes, and timely vital status updates and reports were consistently provided to N-PAC leadership.

• The culmination of their efforts was evident as she co-authored two N-PAC CV Review Program presentations for the July 2022 & July 2023 N-PAC General Body Meetings, showcasing her dedication to transparency and knowledge-sharing.

• To date, more than 300 nurses have had their CVs reviewed by 40 senior nurse officers.

LCDR Brandy Sims exemplifies the qualities celebrated by the DAISY Award through her exceptional leadership, commitment to mentorship, and contributions to the success of the N-PAC CV Review Program.
