My wife was in the ER and has various health issues as well as high-functioning autism. Brandon Kasting came in and explained that the doctors were recommending an NG Tube be inserted. My wife, being a previous EMT, knew exactly what this was. She knew she needed it, but was not happy about it and knew she would struggle letting him put it in.

Brandon talked S through it, what he was going to do to make it as easy as possible on her, and what he needed her to do. I was skeptical that it was going to happen while she was conscious. But I have to admit, he was really good. Both at the physical job of getting it in place, but also, the patient relation part of it and getting her buy in on it. It did take a few tries, but he talked her through each time. He also went above and beyond to make sure she was as comfortable as possible.

They were trying to get her transferred to a hospital that had the specialist she needed. It was going to be a long wait, but Brandon kept checking on her and giving her updates as he had them. When it got late, he even offered to find a recliner for me to sit/sleep in, knowing it was going to be through the night. We all know that ERs are not equipped, nor are they expected to be overnight stays. Brandon is a true example of what great looks like, both in medical expertise and in customer service and compassion. I know that ER gets all sorts of people and a lot of them don't take the time to appreciate the service they received. So I wanted to make sure Brandon knew we really appreciated him being there and taking care of us!

Thank you, Brandon, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
