November 2023 Honoree
Brandi Fields, LPN
Brandi works for many of the nine providers in our clinic. She has a bigger workload than most. You'd never know that because she makes every patient feel as if they're her only priority. She takes the time to build a connection. She sympathizes with each situation, and she is always there to hug that patient or be their shoulder when they've received devastating news, such as breast cancer that we see daily in our clinic.
We had a patient come in after getting a mammogram done. The patient is in the process of adopting a baby that was abandoned. By looking at the report, we knew what the physician was going to say prior to the appointment.
Hearing the words you have breast cancer is never easy. That patient was overwhelmed, emotional, and in denial. Brandi, having multiple providers' inboxes and multiple patients in the waiting room waiting to be seen, took time out of her morning and grieved with this patient. She stopped her busy life to be that person to cry on for the patient.
This lady came alone to her appointment, not knowing the diagnosis she was going to get, but she left feeling like she had a friend with Brandi supporting her through the whole process.
This is just one of many patients on whom Brandi has left her mark. Brandi goes above and beyond for all of us every day. I couldn't be more thankful to call her a friend and coworker.
Thank you, Brandi, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
