May 2026 Honoree
Braedon Joyce
Braedon Joyce has gone above and beyond as a nursing student at PSU Scranton. He consistently met with nursing students as a peer tutor for 3 years. His ability to break down complex information into relatable pieces helped multiple undergraduate nursing students succeed in the classroom and clinical setting. In addition to nursing courses, he also tutored PSU Scranton students in multiple science courses, anatomy, biology, chemistry, and research. Outside of classes, Braedon worked with Dr. Michael Evans on multiple research projects, producing journal entries and poster presentations.
Braedon’s ultimate goal is to be an anesthesiologist. His academic course load included the science and mathematics requirements for medical school admission. Braedon told me he chose a BSN degree prior to medical school to see both sides of patient care. I am nominating Braedon for the DAISY Award because he is an outstanding nursing student and peer mentor. I believe he will be a compassionate nurse and anesthesiologist.

Thank you, Braedon, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
