Brad is one of the smartest, most compassionate, caring individuals I've ever known.
Brad is one of the smartest, most compassionate, caring individuals I've ever known. He shows care and compassion for patients and families so well. He goes above and beyond to provide the best patient care, whether it be trialing new products on vascular access devices that will better patient outcomes, or being a go-to for nurses all over the hospital, doing certain tasks related to vascular access. He will often call on his days off to check on patients who have had issues with their CVC device to make sure the patient is being taken care of.

Not only is he committed to his patients and families, but he is also committed to his coworkers and team. He is dedicated to getting his co-workers the equipment they need to provide quality patient care, from supplies to place IVs to ultrasound machines to perform adequate and competent vascular access insertion. He encourages staff to obtain their VABC certifications, so they are considered experts in the field of vascular access. He gives them printouts to study so that they will be successful on their exam. He has done several educational meetings for new staff, floor nurses, students, etc.

Brad was in charge of the line fair held in 2023-2024. Brad serves as a leader for our team. He works with upper management to prevent CLABSIs. He suggested that the IV team change all CVC dressings in the hospital since the two units with the highest CLABSI rates were the units that the IV team wasn't changing. Since then, CLABSIs have decreased, from what I understand. He is a very smart person to obtain information from, as he is very knowledgeable in the vascular access field. He displays teamwork as he often leaves his paperwork/office work to help out when the workload is heavy, whether it be changing dressings or placing PICCs/IVs. Brad will stay after his manager's hours to complete tasks when it's busy. He inspires all his co-workers every day with his strong care and compassion to provide quality patient care and tremendous knowledge of policies/procedures/vascular access profession. He prioritizes growth and development as he has headed and encouraged several different new products to increase the quality of patient care and has made spreadsheets to track his data. He often presents these statistics at educational meetings.
