Bonnie Haddad-Kehoe, BSN, RN, CCRN
I would like to proudly nominate Bonnie Haddad-Kehoe, a Rapid Response Nurse, for the DAISY Award in recognition of her exceptional clinical expertise, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to patient safety—both inside and outside the hospital setting.
In her day-to-day practice, Bonnie consistently demonstrates vigilance, compassion, and a proactive approach to patient care. She takes all necessary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of every patient she encounters, while maintaining the highest level of professionalism and teamwork.
Bonnie’s extraordinary dedication was exemplified during an incident that occurred on her day off. While on her way to a personal appointment, she noticed an elderly woman lying on the ground outside of her vehicle. Without hesitation, Bonnie sprang into action. Drawing upon her rapid response expertise, she quickly assessed the situation and recognized that this person was in cardiac arrest—she had no pulse and was not breathing.
Bonnie immediately initiated high-quality CPR while simultaneously calling 911 to activate emergency medical services. Her ability to remain calm, focused, and decisive under pressure was critical in those moments. Thanks to her swift and skilled intervention, this person began breathing spontaneously by the time EMS arrived, and Bonnie was able to palpate a pulse—clear signs that her actions made a life-saving difference.
Bonnie’s courage, clinical skill, and dedication to caring for others truly embody the spirit of the DAISY Award. Her actions are a powerful reminder that nursing is not just a profession, but a calling that extends beyond the walls of the workplace. Bonnie went above and beyond without hesitation, and her efforts directly contributed to saving a life.
