What people do not understand is that when you meet someone in a hospital situation, it is the lowest place you could ever meet them, so for him to take time out of his day to just simply encourage me to help me move forward, he has changed my life.
On the morning that I met Nurse Bimins, I had already been hospitalized for approximately six weeks. There was nothing going right for me. It felt as if every time something else would happen to my body that I had no control over, and I became very, very depressed. He walked into my room and began asking me questions about how I felt.

At first, I did not want to answer because no one had asked me how I felt during the time I had been hospitalized. I did my best to ignore him because I just didn't want to move any further, and I really wanted to give up that day. For the next few hours, he kept coming back into the room, speaking wonderful words of care, love, wisdom, and promise to me, until I was able to develop a rapport with him. One day, he helped me use the restroom on my own, which I had not been able to do before, and walk out into the hall with assistance.

Since that day, my progress has only been upward. Everything is falling into place, my attitude is different, and I actually feel like someone cares. What people do not understand is that when you meet someone in a hospital situation, it is the lowest place you could ever meet them, so for him to take time out of his day to just simply encourage me to help me move forward, he has changed my life. I am going to document my time with him and turn it into a book because there are other patients out there who need to know that there are wonderful RNs who actually care and who want what's best for you.

He is a true angel, and I don't know what I would do without him. He really needs to be retained on your staff because he is a gem here. There were even medications that had been missed by the surgeons that I should not have been on that were preventing me from healing, and he was able to look for me and champion for me and speak with the surgeons and get the medications that were making me sick removed from my chart.

Every single day that I had him, my symptoms improved, and I was closer to going home. I have never met anyone like him. He's a wonderful spirit to have in your facility, and if I were management, I would do everything I could to retain such an individual. I'm not only a patient, now he's a friend for life!
