Betsey is the Case Manager on our 6 Buerger Team but is so much more than that; her role encompasses all that is patient-centered. Betsey genuinely loves doing all that she can for each and every patient, team member, family member, and anyone who comes across her path. Her years of nursing expertise and hard work ethic are evident when she is working alongside everyone.

There are so many specific stories of when Betsey goes above and beyond for her patients one such recent story involved a patient that was dropped off by an Uber while she was walking by and she noticed the gentleman struggling; he told her he was trying to get to the ETC. Betsey dropped what she was doing to grab a wheelchair and safely get him to the ETC all the while making him feel comfortable and that it was her pleasure to get him there.

Other examples of Betsey bringing in clothing for patients in need or going above and beyond to collaborate complex discharges with involved families. There was another story where we had a patient who needed to stand but he was not agreeable and was medically complex; Betsey put in the time and encouragement to get this patient to try and stand. She was in there often making meaningful connections and literally cheering him on to provide the best outcome right alongside the Physical Therapists. Betsey never gives up and we are all better for having her in this organization and as a nurse!!
