On her last shift with him, which fell on New Year’s Eve, Beth brought my dad a crocheted blanket to take home—a gesture that touched our hearts deeply.
Beth cared for my father during the first three days of his hospital admission. He had been admitted to further evaluate masses found on a CT scan, and we were anxiously awaiting answers. Beth demonstrated attentiveness, patience, and empathy that made an immeasurable difference during an incredibly difficult experience. Beth took the time to explain every test, every plan of care, and every step of the process to both my mom and dad, ensuring they were informed and comforted. She spoke with clarity and compassion, easing their anxiety without ever making them feel rushed. When one of the diagnostic tests revealed the news, we were most afraid to hear—cancer—Beth handled the moment with profound grace. She supported my parents with a comforting presence and made sure I, too, was emotionally supported and coping. On her last shift with him, which fell on New Year’s Eve, Beth brought my dad a crocheted blanket to take home—a gesture that touched our hearts deeply. It was an act of kindness that my family will never forget, a reminder that compassion is at the center of extraordinary nursing care.
