I am excited to announce Beth Onnen as the DAISY Nurse Leader Award for her exceptional leadership, dedication, and tireless support in the High-Risk OB unit. Beth consistently goes above and beyond, always willing to jump in and assist the floor nurses, even taking on her own patient load when the unit is short-staffed, whether it’s during the day or night shift. This level of involvement ensures that the team is supported and that patient care remains top priority, no matter the challenge. 
 
Beth takes the time to check in with the patients daily, ensuring they are receiving the highest level of care possible. Her personal approach to patient care is one of the many reasons why she stands out as an outstanding leader in our unit. 
 
Beyond patient care, Beth is deeply committed to the well-being of her staff. She regularly checks in with team members even on her days off and while on PTO, offering support, encouragement, guidance, and reassurance. Beth provides a safe space for nurses to vent about difficult patients, challenging shifts, or even interpersonal staff concerns. She empowers each individual to utilize their strengths and encourages personal and professional growth. Beth also advocates for her staff to receive the same high level of care and commitment from the company, ensuring their needs are heard and addressed. 
 
Beth plays a pivotal role in improving patient outcomes. She actively contacts providers, arranges meetings, and takes the initiative to facilitate better communication and coordination to ensure the best care for our patients. Her proactive efforts demonstrate her commitment to always striving for excellence in patient care. 
 
Beth is the kind of leader who leads by example and fosters an environment where both staff and patients feel valued and cared for. Her dedication to her role, her team, and the patients we serve makes her truly deserving of this DAISY Award.
