Ben was a true blessing for me today on 6E. He was my student nurse, but was invaluable to me. Our shift started with a stroke RR, which was the first rapid for me since starting at Ascension. He jumped in and helped me navigate the situation. I admit I was overwhelmed, and he was the calm assurance I needed. Although he was my student, he provided me with a wealth of information about policies/procedures, charting, etc. The morning rapid put me behind by several hours. Ben could see I was struggling, and he continued to encourage me. I have never had a student who was so advanced in their nursing knowledge. Ben will be a fantastic nurse when he graduates next year. He not only has the clinical expertise, but his bedside manner is exceptional! Thank you, Ben, for everything you did today. It was appreciated more than you know! Ben is an all-around exceptional individual. He was willing to help everyone, not just the patients he was assigned. This is a true reflection of his character, in my opinion. He has such a positive demeanor even in stressful situations. Ben is an awesome educator!
