Benie Byiringiro, RN

I had the opportunity to get to know Nurse Benie Byiringiro over the course of several days while one of my family members was hospitalized on the 5th floor. From our very first interaction, Benie demonstrated exceptional listening skills and genuine compassion. She was fully attentive to my family member's needs and concerns. Benie stood out because of her empathy, emotional intelligence, and kindness.

During that difficult time, I had several questions and concerns regarding my family member's care. Although she was not always in a position to provide all the answers herself, she took the time to listen carefully and thoughtfully. She assured me that she would communicate our concerns to the physician and do everything within her role to help us obtain the information we needed. Throughout every interaction I had with her, I witnessed her remarkable patience, professionalism, and dedication. It was clear that nursing is more than just a job for her; it is a calling. She treated both patients and family members with respect, dignity, and genuine care.

What impressed me most was her ability to support not only my family member but also those of us who were worried and trying to navigate a challenging situation. Her calm presence, understanding, and willingness to listen helped make a stressful experience much more manageable. I wholeheartedly believe that Benie deserves this nomination. She exemplifies the qualities of an outstanding nurse and consistently goes above and beyond in caring for both patients and their families. Her compassion, professionalism, and commitment to excellent care made a meaningful difference during a very difficult time, and I am grateful for the care and support she provided.
