I was in the hospital for bleeding after my tonsillectomy, and during this time, as my main day nurse, she was nothing but nice, respectful, and just a loving person. I struggle with noncombat PTSD, depression, and anxiety. A doctor misunderstood a conversation we had. We discussed how my panic attacks get a lot worse in the hospital at night, and we discussed this at 10 am. At 5 p.m., I still haven’t had it. I asked for it between those times, and I was just told they'll look into it. So, I feel the shaking starting, and Beena walks in and starts talking to me. I immediately ask for an AMA form so I can go home because I started to lose it. Not physically or by being rude. But I started crying and shaking, just asking to leave, and she immediately tried to get the doctor on the line to help me. She had a couple of nurses get me ice packs and cold wet towels. After her trying to calm me down for a little bit, I could really tell she took this personally. Not in a negative way, but like the way a mom would react to her child in this situation. Nothing but caring, trying to understand my situation through my eyes, and probably being one of the best nurses I've ever had the pleasure of helping me. After talking with me and staying with me, she convinced me not to leave and to stay the night. She is the pinnacle of what it means to be a nurse. I really hope you can take her into consideration for this. She brought back a lot of hope for me regarding the medical industry.
