August 2026 Honoree
Beatrice Ofosu-Baako, BSN, RN
I have had the pleasure of interacting with Bea as the night hospice nurse caring for my father for 3 different night shifts. Her presence with my father, her communication with him, her medical care, and the comfort she provided have been consistent and outstanding. Her compassion toward him and me is so felt and appreciated. She made me feel that he was safe and cared for when I could not be in the room with him. She cared about how she spoke to him, respecting him at his most vulnerable. She shows the utmost patience with him as her patient and with me as his daughter. I trust her completely, and she does everything to make him comfortable, checking in through the night, providing medications, even the smallest details of making sure his mouth is moist, and his lips have chapstick for moisture, propping his legs with pillows, and reassuring me that he is comfortable. She has taken the time to speak with me on a deeper level regarding this extremely difficult process. Her warmth is genuine and natural, and her gentle reassurance and the comfort she speaks in words to my father in hospice. I cannot thank her and the other nursing staff enough for the compassionate professionalism provided. This hospital experience has been what any family member would wish for their beloved family member during their most difficult times. Thank you
Thank you, Beatrice, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
