Barry was the nurse for my grandmother when she was admitted. He thoroughly listened to our concerns about her med list being accurate. He went and cross-checked it with our list immediately. Then he came back to talk to us and get the corrected list. He could have easily blown off our concerns that it was wrong and gone off the report he had just been given. Even though he had been given the wrong med list from the other hospital, he maintained professionalism and did not say anything negative about being given the wrong med list and instead focused on getting the corrected information from us.

Barry was very courteous and listened to our concerns while being respectful of the other hospital. He very quickly cross-checked the med list, and when he found it to be different from what we were telling him, he came back to us to go over the documentation that we had of her current medications that she takes. Not only did Barry listen to our concerns, but he also understood that my grandmother was very hungry. He told her that as soon as he was able to safely do a swallow evaluation that he would get it completed and, if she passed, get her something to eat. He kept his word, and she was able to eat during Barry’s shift on nights.
