If you were to ask me the kind of thorough and compassionate education, navigation, and care I would want for myself or a family member undergoing cancer treatment, I would point directly to Barb Ruda. I have had the privilege of working with Barb since 2020, and I am still in awe of the nursing care she provides daily. Barb consistently goes absolutely above and beyond to ensure that patients have everything they need to successfully navigate treatment and even will take the time to come to infusion after the patient's visits on the first floor with a print of all of the information, then sit down with the patient to take notes and answer questions. I truly don't know how much time she has each day to complete all of the things she does, but she never comes across as rushed and treats each patient as if they are the only ones in her day. I truly can' t think of anyone more deserving of this award.
