My 56-year-old father-in-law was a patient for a week and a half in the ICU, ventilated most of that time. He had a litany of health issues: history of throat cancer, PEG tube, COPD, pneumonia, and suspected return of the cancer. When my husband would go visit, Bailey was there, always willing to answer any questions, whether about the ventilator, medications, treatment plan, or anything. She made sure we had access to the bedside MyChart so we could see notes and test results, and offered to explain anything we needed.

She has the sweetest personality, always cheerful yet sympathetic to the hard times we were dealing with. At the end of his stay, when it was decided to move to comfort care, she was there. She explained everything in a caring and compassionate way. She gave us all the medical information in a way my husband and I could understand. She stayed by Dad's side until we got there. She offered support after he had passed and allowed us our time to grieve with no rush and nothing but compassion. She helped us when we had questions about next steps and did all she could to support us. She made an incredibly difficult time just a little easier on us, and I will forever be grateful to her for that.

Bailey, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are a wonderful nurse and a wonderful person. You were exactly who we needed.
