We think Ayla is the newest nurse to serve us. Right from the start, her highly positive, bubbly attitude was refreshing. Oftentimes, nurses are serious, while others are either distracted or occupied by routine duties. Some come in and are in a rush, making simple mistakes, hurting my wife during dressing change, or not really listening to us.

Ayla was completely different. She did command respect because of her confidence and performance. But she made it a point to listen to us, joking around, laughing, and just generally treating us like friends or family. We were not a room to her or just part of her workload. No – this nurse acted as though my wife was important to her and was her only patient. This is class, this is precious and this is not common. She cares!

Ayla listened intently to this account, then asked me to provide the procedure again, which I did. She wants to print it out to share around so that more NG tubes can be improved. This was very supportive, and quite frankly, smart to share what works with others.
