Avery Thomas, MSN, RN
Avery Thomas is an incredible nurse and goes above and beyond for all her patients. She is often told by her patients, "Can I request you to be my nurse every day?" because she just gives the most excellent care to each of our kids.
An example of Avery going above and beyond is that Avery created a fun and unique scavenger hunt for her BMT patients to encourage them to walk and move around to improve both their mental health and physical health. Avery is so smart and is the leader of our education committee. She is a resource to all the staff members working with her.
She is approachable, an excellent teacher, and encouraging to new staff members.
Avery deserves the DAISY Award because she is an extraordinary nurse who will always go the extra mile for her patients and for our staff members. She is dedicated to our patients and provides the very best care every shift. We are so lucky to have her!
