Autumn's kindness and endless well of patience really helped us to stay optimistic.
We arrived to the hospital by ambulance a little after midnight with our baby who was having trouble breathing. Autumn was so kind and caring with our little one. Our baby can be difficult and kept ripping her wires off and Autumn was always right in to reattach them without showing even the tiniest bit of annoyance. She said "That's okay! She can rip them off and I'll be right here to stick them back on." with a smile. She made sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable overnight and even went to hunt down an extra chair for us. She always made sure to ask if we parents needed anything or if we had any questions. When we managed to get some sleep, she came in so quietly to check vitals that we didn't know she had come in. When our baby's oxygen started dropping, she was so calm and reassuring. Baby refused to keep the oxygen on but Autumn was very patient with her and tried different ways to get it on until it stayed. Autumn's kindness and endless well of patience really helped us to stay optimistic. We were discharged before her next shift, so we didn't get to say goodbye to her, but I would have loved to thank her for everything she did for us.
