Aundrea does not just support nurses in the moment; she creates systems that sustain safe, high-quality care long-term.
Aundrea exemplifies the true essence of transformational nursing leadership through her unwavering support for her employees, her steadfast commitment to doing what is right for every patient, and her courage in elevating the voice of nurses to drive meaningful change. She leads with compassion, integrity, and an open door. No matter how busy her day is, she consistently makes time to listen to her staff. She values our frontline nurses' perspective and ensures everyone feels seen, supported, and heard. Her leadership style empowers nurses to speak up, fosters psychological safety, and creates an environment where collaboration and respect guide every decision.
During my time under her leadership, she demonstrated exceptional advocacy when nurses raised concerns about a product that was not serving our patients as expected. Rather than dismissing or minimizing the feedback, she took the concerns seriously, investigated thoroughly, and championed change. Her determination resulted in the organization reviewing and reassessing the product to assist in preventing harm and improving patient outcomes. Her actions reflect what nursing leadership should be: prioritizing patient safety above convenience, cost, or tradition and standing firmly behind her clinical judgment and the clinical judgment of the frontline team.
Aundrea does not just support nurses in the moment; she creates systems that sustain safe, high-quality care long-term. She models professionalism, kindness, and accountability in every interaction, inspiring those around her to reach higher, advocate stronger, and lead with heart. Because of her guidance, nurses feel valued. Because of her advocacy, patients receive better care. And because of her leadership, our organization is stronger. She is a true DAISY Leader, one who lifts up others, amplifies the voice of nurses, and consistently puts patients at the center of every decision.
